Learn the Quran from home in Makkah

Looking for a trusted online Quran academy in Makkah? Meerath Al-Quran Academy offers families in Makkah a complete program to memorize the Quran remotely with Tajweed and study Islamic sciences, with certified male and female teachers and live one-to-one sessions in Saudi time (GMT+3) — all from home.

Beside the Sacred House of Allah, hearts are attached to the Quran. We help the people of Makkah keep memorizing and revising with focused one-to-one sessions that suit those working through the Hajj and Umrah seasons and school students alike.

Every family member has a track: Noor Al-Bayan foundations for children (age 4+), solid memorization with a custom plan, recitation correction for adults, Islamic sciences and Azhari curricula, or an Ijazah with a connected chain — with fully flexible times.

Why online study suits life in Makkah

Makkah is home to the Sacred Mosque and the Kaaba, the qibla of Muslims everywhere, and it was in the Cave of Hira on its outskirts that the first verses of the Quran were revealed to the Prophet ﷺ: “Read in the name of your Lord who created” [Al-Alaq: 1]. Since that day the city’s name has been bound up with reciting and teaching the Quran; its people grow up hearing it in the prayers, and having children memorize it remains a core part of family life in Makkah. Most of the Quran’s surahs were revealed in the Makkan period, the thirteen years before the Hijrah, including most of the surahs of Juz Amma with which children usually begin memorizing.

Life in Makkah follows the seasons. In Ramadan and Hajj the roads around the Haram are crowded, and many residents work long, changing hours serving pilgrims and Umrah visitors in hotels, transport and guidance, before life calms down once the season ends. A single timetable all year does not suit many families, so we lighten sessions at the peak of the season and use them for revision and consolidation, then return to the full memorization plan afterwards. In such periods a short, steady daily portion — even a single page — is better than a long break; the Prophet ﷺ said: “The most beloved of deeds to Allah are the most consistent, even if they are few” (Muslim 783).

Makkah is also home to families from many Muslim countries who have lived near the Haram for generations, and some of their children grow up with a mother tongue other than Arabic. For them we offer a Noor Al-Bayan foundation that starts with the letters and how to pronounce them, explained in simple Arabic or in English when needed, followed by correct recitation and then memorization. Girls and women study with female teachers at morning or evening times — all online from home in Saudi time, with no need to travel through the seasonal crowds. Those who have completed and mastered memorization can go on to the Ijazah track with a connected chain.

FAQ

Questions from Makkah

1I work serving pilgrims during Ramadan and Hajj. Can I reduce my sessions in the season without losing my plan?

Yes. Before the season we agree a lighter timetable with you — one or two revision-only sessions a week, or pausing new memorization while you keep a short daily revision portion — and after the season you resume your full plan from where you stopped.

2We speak a language other than Arabic at home and live in Makkah. Can my children learn to read correctly?

Yes. Your child starts with Noor Al-Bayan, learning the letters and their sounds step by step, with explanations in simple Arabic or in English when needed; they do not need to speak Arabic first. They then progress gradually to reading words and verses and on to memorization, with regular reports showing parents what their child has mastered.

3Do you have a center in Makkah?

No — Meerath Al-Quran is fully online, so there is no need for a center in Makkah: a certified teacher reaches you at home over the internet in live one-to-one sessions, with the same quality in every city across Saudi Arabia.

4What class times are available in Makkah?

We set the time with you in Saudi time (GMT+3) — morning, after Asr, evening or at the weekend (Friday & Saturday) — around school and work, and it can be adjusted when needed.

5Do you offer Noor Al-Bayan for children and women’s classes in Makkah?

Yes. We build children’s foundations from age 4 with Noor Al-Bayan and Al-Qaida Al-Nooraniyah, run women’s classes led by certified female teachers, and teach memorization with Tajweed and Islamic sciences for adults — all online from Makkah.
